• I'm not very experienced in the dating world..

  And right now i'm very confused.
  
  I used to think (or sort of forced to think, because my friend liked him first) that this guy will only be my guy friend, and nothing more. We ended up being good friends, and I really enjoy his company and him being there. We used to talk about this girl that he liked, and I believe she liked him back, but I wasn't really sure.
  
  But then at times, I thought that he was about to tell me that he liked me, because when I asked about the girl that he liked before, he said he didn't know if he still felt the same way. And then a few days before that he was being very flirty, more flirty than usual.
  
  And then so now I didn't really think it, but still thought that there was a chance he liked me. I started to like him back, but not too much because I know that in the end i'd probably get hurt, and I wouldn't want that.
  
  And lately as we hang out, he still flirts with me a lot. And when we hug, they aren't just a regular hug, but a hug where neither one of us lets go, until we realize that we should. He's also grabbed my hand a couple times.
  
  But just yesterday I heard from a friend that he was dating this girl that I discussed above (go back up) and that she doesn't think they're dating anymore because of the way he was talking in past tense.
  
  Now maybe he was just playing mind games with me? Or using me? I didn't understand why he wouldn't tell me he started to date her. We used to talk about these things, and now he never brings her up.
  
  Now for my questions.. Is he just using me? Is he leading me on? Should I ask him about this girl, or do you think it would make it awkward?
